Foto - und Dia - Serie | 2012 I Projektionsgröße : 300 cm x 200 cm
Photo and Dia Series | 2012 I Projection size : 300 cm x 200 cm
The Installation backstage city depicts a total of 12 Portraits of various architects in their early thirties. As a research pool, Skype interviews were carried out with representatives of this yet-to-be established generation, which has worked until now ,backstage‘. The photographs originate from the individually filmed interviews, and depict contemporary portraits conveyed through the computer screen.
The structure of the computer monitor can be recognised in the projected stills, occasionally even the cursor can be seen. The architects were asked their opinions on the global work situation and on global spatial visualisation. Their answers unconsciously accentuate their portraits with noticeable gestures, whilst they attempt to depict spaces and to make proportions comprehensible. In architectural theory the term ,backstage city‘ stands for the urban periphery, and refers to the areas in which the attractive and noteworthy ,visible‘ areas (frontstage) of a globalised city are manufactured. |
